There are a number of places, from libraries to coffee shops to public parks, that are supporting Wi-Fi, but a few people still don't quite understand how it works when it comes to connecting to the Internet. We here at TechNewsDaily have a video that breaks it down for you.

In this video, we break down just what Wi-Fi – short for wireless fidelity – is all about. Essentially, it's a radio signal that allows you to connect compatible devices, including phones, video game systems and tablets, to the Internet without the need for a hard connection.

The video also talks about the components that make Wi-Fi networking possible – access points and clients. The client is the device that receives the service (such as your laptop or phone), while the access point, which is usually in the guise of a wireless router, parcels out the signal to the compatible devices.
